Aconite Mobile Application Manager
With the new Aconite Mobile Application Manager™, payment card issuers and personalization bureaus can issue mobile payment applications — including EMV — to customers with NFC cellphones without complex enhancements to existing card issuing systems and new interfaces to mobile service providers.
Aconite Mobile Application Manager provides the link between issuers and Trusted Service Managers (TSMs) and the mobile networks and overcomes uncertainty over the roles of each player in the new mobile ecosystem. Aconite Mobile Application Manager handles the preparation of application and personalization data, the security of issuer domains in the customer phone’s Secure Element and the interface between the issuer and the mobile delivery channels provided by TSMs and Mobile Network Operators. Aconite Mobile Application Manager implements the framework, interfaces and security features of the new GlobalPlatform standards for mobile application management.
The diagram below shows how Aconite Mobile Application Manager allows a financial app issuer to easily operate in the complex mobile payments world — Aconite Mobile Application Manager could also be deployed at a service provider such as a personalization bureau, serving multiple application issuers.
Issuers can now offer mobile payments to their customers irrespective of the model of handset they own, the mobile network they use or the NFC technology in their cellphone. Aconite Mobile Application Manager not only takes care of the lifecycle of mobile payment applications, it also provides links to multiple TSMs to cover all the available Secure Element technologies, foster competition on service levels and costs and avoid lock-in to a single provider.
