Aconite Speaking and Exhibiting at CARTES in Asia 2011

London, 16th March 2011, 09.00 a.m.

Aconite, a leading provider of software and consulting services for managing business applications on chips in smart cards, tokens and mobiles, today announced that Senior Consultant Nigel Beatty will be speaking at CARTES in Asia 2011. Nigel will be speaking on the theme of “Prepaid Cards – The Next Generation” and will cover: the impact of EMV on the prepaid market; the rationale for offline authorised prepaid cards in payments and transit markets; and how offline prepaid works. Aconite will also be present on the Exhibition floor and Nigel plus colleagues will be available at Aconite’s area on Datacard’s stand (number 3C27) to meet attendees and demonstrate Aconite’s prepaid solutions.

Aconite’s demonstrations will include its Affina® Enterprise smart product management platform, used by Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), which manages the life-cycles of business applications and chips used by smart cards and mobiles, from data preparation and issuance, through renewal, replacement and post-issuance updates to cancellation. Affina Enterprise also interfaces with Datacard® CardWizard® instant issuance software, providing the personalisation data needed to facilitate issuance at the point-of-service. CardWizard returns chip specific data to Affina Enterprise which stores it to facilitate subsequent management, post issuance upgrade and reissuance of the cards.

Following on from the successful inaugural event last year, Aconite’s participation in CARTES in Asia for the second time reflects its continued commitment to the Asian market.

Aconite expects to make a further announcement prior to the event regarding its plans for direct representation in the region, further emphasising its commitment to this strategic market.

Patrick Regester, Aconite’s EVP, Sales and Marketing, said “We are delighted to have the opportunity to both speak and, with our partner Datacard, exhibit at CARTES in Asia 2011. Prepaid products and smart, chip-based products, including cards and mobiles, are both high growth areas and we look forward to explaining and demonstrating how we can enable issuers to manage these products securely, efficiently and cost-effectively”.
